  By Charles Billingsley
Two thousand years ago, the King of Kings removed His robes of royalty, left His throne in Heaven, "humbled himself," and got dressed down in the flesh. He brought with Him love, grace, peace, joy, and salvation. His message was simple..."Come follow me." Ultimately, our response to Him was a scourged back, a beaten brow, a sword in His side, nail pierced hands and feet, and a cross. He returned to the right hand of the Father carrying the cruel scars of His journey...the marks of His mission.
Since that day, many have come and gone and many have chosen to ignore His message. but those who have chosen to follow Him have received the highest calling of the soul. With this calling comes honor, grace, and peace, but there also comes persecution, suffering, and often times physical death. Through it all, however, is found real life and real purpose and a true understanding of why Jesus came. He came to set us free from the bondage of sin. Now His desire is that we live our lives as worshipping servants and that we carry out His great commission. For we are His bride, we are His church, we are proof of His existence...we are the marks of the mission.
